Job Summary:
The CAD Designer will support the engineering and design team by creating detailed drawings and layouts for sunroom projects. This role requires CAD experience, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, dealers, and customers. The position also includes administrative and coordination responsibilities to support engineering operations and dealer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create detailed CAD drawings for sunroom projects, including Foundation plans, Framing plans, Elevations, Sections and construction details
  • Interpret and develop drawings based on input from supervisors, customers, and dealers
  • Modify drawings to meet building codes and project specifications
  • Make corrections and updates to existing drawings as needed
  • Prepare and print job packages for review and approval
  • Assist with engineering calculations and supporting documentation
  • Work closely with the Design Center and internal engineering team
  • Communicate with dealers across the state to provide drawings and technical support
  • Respond to emails and inquiries from dealers and internal staff in a timely manner
  • Research previous jobs and provide documentation when requested
  • Track and file engineering request forms
  • Submit paperwork for invoicing and maintain organized records
  • Assist with license renewals and documentation management
  • Prepare supporting letters, reports, and calculations
  • Assist with Epicor system tasks and job tracking
  • Process marketing orders for dealers and internal teams
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in CAD design (AutoCAD required)
  • Associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering or related field preferred
  • Experience in construction drawings, framing, or structural layouts preferred
  • Strong understanding of building codes and construction detailing is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) is a plus
