Job description

Cable Tray Material Handler- 2nd Shift

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Cable Tray Material Handler- 2nd Shift. The core hours are 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm. The rate for this position is $22.71/hour + $1.20/hour shift differential per hour plus a $.60 per hour shift differential. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You'll Do:

The Cable Tray Material Handler is responsible for kitting up and maintaining kitted production parts for all Cable Tray lines and moving, storing, and delivering materials or products throughout the area to keep aisles clear and production organized. You will utilize a powered truck and other powered material handling equipment as needed (ex. walking crane) to stock parts on assembly lines and remove completed parts from assembly. You will stack pallets and arrange materials and complete other duties as assigned.

  • Use ZORDERS to prioritize production needs.
  • Initiate ordering and picking up of any crib parts or boxes needed from BOD.
  • Identify pending kit part shortages and request assistance from purchasing in resolving.
  • Perform 5S & Continuous Improvement throughout the department.
  • Utilize SAP for part identification when parts are not clearly labeled. Label up the part once identified.
  • Unload cardboard bales, wood, and aluminum scrap as required.
  • Identify and put up any leftover parts not needed after a production run daily.
  • Maintain and utilize database for storing pallets in the warehouse racks.
  • Band, stage, and take out products/materials outside.
  • Load materials into machinery or racks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates who currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Sherman, TX will be considered
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong product knowledge.
  • Forklift experience both stand up and sit down.
Position Criteria:

Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally to frequently (33-66%) and up to 75 lbs. occasionally by stooping, reaching, and bending with or without accommodation. Ability to stand for eight hours plus while performing repetitive tasks. Ability to follow directions, work independently, and close attention to detail. Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product. Ability to reach, grasp, and manipulate. Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays, as dictated by business need.
