Job description

Material Handler - 2nd Shift - Cable Tray

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Material Handler - 2nd Shift - Cable Tray at our Reno, NV facility! The hourly rate for this position is $22.73 +.50 Shift Differential per hour.

CORE HOURS: 2:30PM - 11PM. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You'll Do:
  • Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies & finished goods
  • Load and unload trailers as required
  • Pick and pull stock for delivery
  • Organize pallet area in the backyard on regular basis
  • Organize material storage location in backyard and inside the building on a regular basis
  • Complete forklift inspection on a daily basis
  • Oversee recycling duties for assigned area (i.e., emptying cardboard bins to the cardboard baler on a daily basis, operating cardboard baler, etc.)
  • Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
  • Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
  • Other various duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Reno, NV (50 miles) will be considered for this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand on feet continuously during working shift with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Able to regularly lift up to 35 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations. Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with or without reasonable assistance.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.
  • Ability to work overtime with little to no notice as necessary for customer requirements.
