Open Positions: Structured Cabling Technicians (Tech I, II, III)

We are looking for motivated and skilled technicians at multiple levels to join our growing team. Whether you’re just starting in low-voltage systems or have advanced installation and leadership experience, Premier DataCom offers opportunities to build your career with training, mentorship, and advancement.

Technician I – Starting Rate: $20/hr

Entry-Level / Support Role

  • Assist with installation of cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Fiber Optic, etc.) under supervision.
  • Pull, route, and label cables in a variety of environments.
  • Learn proper use of tools, testing equipment, and installation standards.
  • Support team members in daily tasks.
  • Begin closet installation introductions and how to execute solo.
  • Complete required company trainings including safety, vendor certifications, and more.
  • Ideal for candidates with limited experience but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Technician II – Starting Rate: $24/hr

Experienced Installer

  • Install, terminate, test, and label cabling with minimal supervision.
  • Plan and execute cable routing (overhead, under-floor, conduit, etc.) efficiently and safely.
  • Learn and execute solo closet installations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, maps, and specifications.
  • Install and configure network racks, patch panels, and related hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity or installation issues.

Technician III – Starting Rate: $28/hr

Advanced Installer / Fill-in Lead on small sites

  • Work closely with Lead and team on complex installations and ensure adherence to industry standards and project timelines.
  • Oversee and quality-check all aspects of structured cabling projects.
  • Act as a key point of contact for project managers and clients on technical matters, as needed.
  • Execute and oversee closet installations.
  • Train to individually Lead on small projects.
  • Operate company vehicles and machinery when necessary.
  • Troubleshoot advanced system issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Advance within security trainings and installations.
  • Mentor and train junior staff, fostering team development.
