Job Title: Senior Security Systems Technician
Location: Markham, Ontario
Type: Full-time, Permanent

Experience: 5+ years

Spotter Security is growing, and we need another Senior Security System Technician that will bring more leadership and skill to our technical team. This role is perfect for someone that has over 5 years experience installing commercial security systems.

Our Security Systems Technicians are the face of our company – as the person with whom our clients will meet with most often, your success will build positive relationships with our clients.

Security Systems Technicians Overview

This is very much a hands-on position. You will be driving to customer sites to install, maintain, and update their security system hardware. Our technicians work individually and in teams; we have worked hard to achieve a supportive environment where you can learn from each other. Our customers' worksites span across the GTA, and you will need to begin and end each day at our Markham office.

Successful technicians will be able to:

  • Communicate effectively with our customers, and manage their expectations;
  • Help lead colleagues through installation projects and service calls;
  • Help teach colleagues about security systems and equipment;
  • Install low voltage cable for security cameras, card access systems, and alarm systems;
  • Terminate CAT5/6 cable with RJ45 and into a patch panel;
  • Mount and terminate access control panels (S2, Brivo, Avigilon);
  • Mount and focus IP cameras (Axis, Avigilon);
  • Mount and terminate alarm panels (DSC);
  • Mount network racks and wall enclosures;
  • Install and terminate door strikes and card readers;
  • Read blueprints and drawings.

If you enjoy problem solving and will push yourself to learn and exceed expectations, this could be the job for you! We are looking for talented people who enjoy hands-on work and are prepared for labour intensive tasks.

Please clearly indicate relevant experience and qualifications on your resume. Be sure to make any of the following experience and knowledge clear.

  • Must have a valid full G-class license

  • Must be currently able to legally work in Canada.

While we appreciate all candidates, these are only the minimum requirements that must be met to be considered for the position, and meeting them alone may not be sufficient for further consideration.

  • Ministry approved Working at Heights certification
  • Boom/Scissor lift and/or Bucket Truck safety training
  • Product knowledge certification/courses
  • Completion of IPVM courses
  • Education in Technologist or Electrical programs

What's in it for you?

  • Guaranteed full-time hours
  • Competitive pay
  • Extended Health and Dental benefits
