Network Services Tech, CE

Classification: Non-Exempt Reports to: Director of Network Services

Your Impact

The Network Services Tech will work as part of the Network Services Team on customer locations, assisting with client specific projects to achieve optimum use of their networks by performing moves, adds, changes, fixes to hardware and software, as well as troubleshooting client concerns.

A Glimpse of What You'll do

  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as organizational abilities throughout client interaction
  • Assist with installing hardware when required by client
  • Support planned and unplanned client facility power downs
  • Assist with escalating any identified problems or hazards associated with client moves, adds and changes, cabling installations and fault rectification
  • Ascertain the best possible solution for incidents including escalation
  • Use the client Incident Ticketing system (NIRD) and Change Control systems
  • Ensure all change and fault records are updated
  • Provide appropriate handovers to other CEs at shift end
  • Run patch cables between patch panels and switches as well as wall jacks and end user devices as required by client ticketing system
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

What You Bring

  • Active pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or other technology related field
  • Two years' experience in client/server environment preferred

Additional Information

  • Full time, non-exempt
  • Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Days and hours may vary; evening and weekend work may be required depending on the needs of the business
  • Travel is primarily local, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected
  • Frequently required to lift or move up to 50 pounds
