About this Role

The Substation Construction Foreman is responsible for leading and managing crews in the construction of high-voltage electrical substations. This role focuses on overseeing installation of substation structures, bus work, high-voltage equipment, and associated systems in accordance with engineered drawings, safety standards, and customer requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and coordinate daily work activities for construction crews, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Install substation steel structures, bus work, and high-voltage equipment such as breakers, CCVTs, CTs, arrestors, disconnect switches, and transformers.
  • Install conduit, cable tray, wireways, and other raceway systems to support substation equipment.
  • Pull and terminate power, control, and grounding cables as required for substation operation.
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries, material staging, and proper use of tools and heavy equipment.
  • Interpret construction drawings, one-lines, schematics, and schedules to plan and sequence work.
  • Maintain crew discipline, provide on-the-job guidance, and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Communicate daily with project managers, engineers, and safety personnel to address issues and track progress.
  • Complete daily reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
What You'll Bring

Knowledge, Experience, and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or completion of an electrical apprenticeship preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in high-voltage substation construction, with at least 2 years in a foreman or supervisory position.
