$35-$40/hr Cabinet Maker

Job Description

Join our team as a Cabinet Maker where you will use a variety of hand tools such as drills, handheld routers, and air nail guns to perform the final assembly of high-end retail store displays.

Responsibilities

  • Study blueprints or drawings to plan the sequence of operations for constructing or repairing articles.
  • Mark outlines or dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock.
  • Match materials for color, grain, or texture.
  • Set up and operate woodworking machines like power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, and shapers to cut and shape wood parts.
  • Trim component parts of joints to ensure a snug fit.
  • Bore holes for screws or dowels.
  • Glue, fit, and clamp parts and subassemblies to form a complete unit.
  • Drive nails or other fasteners into joints to reinforce them.
  • Sand and scrape surfaces and joints to prepare articles for finishing.
  • Repair high-grade furniture articles.
  • Apply protective or decorative materials such as stain, varnish, or paint to assembled articles.
  • Install hardware like hinges, catches, and drawer pulls.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, well-lit, and organized facility that is air-conditioned and humidity-controlled. The first shift is from 6:30 am to 3 pm with the possibility of up to 10 hours of overtime a week and occasional Saturday mornings. If needed, a second shift runs Monday through Thursday from 3 pm to 1:30 am with overtime on Fridays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
