Cab Drivers primarily focus on driving passengers to their destinations, requiring a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Taxi Dispatchers, on the other hand, coordinate rides from an office or dispatch center, managing driver assignments and customer requests. Both roles are integral to the taxi industry but differ in responsibilities and work environment.

How much do cab drivers get?

Cab drivers typically earn an hourly wage plus commissions or tips, with earnings varying based on location, hours worked, and demand. In many areas, the average annual income ranges from $25,000 to $45,000, but it can be higher with experience and a busy schedule.

How to start being a cab driver?

To become a cab driver, you typically need to obtain a valid driver's license, meet age and driving experience requirements, and acquire any necessary permits or licenses such as a chauffeur or taxi license. You may also need to pass background checks and vehicle inspections, and often complete a training program or knowledge test about local routes and regulations.

Is it better to be a cab driver or an Uber driver?

Cab drivers and Uber drivers both operate as transportation service providers, but Uber drivers typically have more flexible schedules and use a smartphone app for ride requests, while cab drivers often work for a taxi company and may have more regulated fares. The choice depends on personal preferences for independence, scheduling, and the required licensing or vehicle standards.
