Job description

The Loma Linda VA has an opening for an energetic, driven, and compassionate Anesthesiologist.

Facility Details: VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHCS) is actively recruiting to fill a Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiologist to help care for our Veterans - America's Heroes! At the VA, our health care teams are deeply experienced and guided by the needs of Veterans, their families, and caregivers.
The VA Loma Linda Healthcare system is affiliated with Loma Linda University Health Medical School. Teaching of medical students, residents and fellows is an integral part of the position. The position provides an outstanding opportunity for individuals committed to an academic career in clinical care, teaching and research and requires excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to team building.

Position Details:

  • Assessment of, consultation for, and preparation of patients for anesthesia including pre-operative patient exam and assessment.

  • Provision of insensibility to pain during surgical, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures and the management of patients so affected.

  • Monitoring and restoration of homeostasis during the perioperative period, as well as homeostasis in the critically ill, injured, or otherwise seriously ill patient.

  • Diagnosis and intraoperative treatment of painful syndromes.

  • Clinical management and teaching of cardiac and pulmonary resuscitation.

  • Evaluation of respiratory function and application of respiratory therapy in all its forms.

  • Supervision, teaching, and evaluation of performance of both medical and paramedical personnel in anesthesia.

  • Administrative involvement in hospitals, medical schools, and outpatient facilities necessary for implementation of these responsibilities.

  • Involvement in quality improvement efforts if desired.

Salary: $350,000 - $380,000 per year

Work Schedule: Weekday 0700-1530 or Weekend Sat or Sunday 0700-1330 in house. (Hours are flexible and may vary).

Preferred Experience: ABA Board Certified or Board Eligible

The city is located approximately 60 miles east of Los Angeles in San Bernardino County. While it is near the highly developed job market of Los Angeles and Orange Counties, it does provide a small-town setting for your home, work, or recreation. Adjacent to California's Interstate 10 freeway, Loma Linda is freeway close to beaches, mountains, and desert resorts.
