Job description

Job Summary:
CBS Sports is a leader in cross-platform sports coverage, and they are seeking a Director of Product Management to own the product direction for their sports app. This role involves setting product strategy, leading a small team, and ensuring alignment across design and engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Set product strategy for the CBS Sports App and translate it into clear priorities teams can act on.
โ€ข Own the app's plan. Decide what we're building, sequence the work, balance risk, track outcomes, and make the hard calls on what to continue, change, or stop.
โ€ข Prototype to think. We build working prototypes to remove ambiguity, test ideas with real fans, and learn before we commit. You'll use tools like Claude and Cursor to make concepts tangible, iterate on what you learn, and arrive at a better strategy because you've held the thing in your hand.
โ€ข Coach and develop 1โ€“2 PMs through structured feedback, calibration, and deliberate growth planning.
โ€ข Partner with design and engineering directors on cross-squad alignment, delivery cadence, and how we evolve our process.
โ€ข Represent product to executive leadership. Turn fan behavior, competitive dynamics, and product performance into a clear narrative that builds trust.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข 10+ years in product, with meaningful time in a leadership role.
โ€ข Consumer environment, ideally mobile-first and at scale.
โ€ข You've owned the strategy, shipped against it, and developed other PMs.
โ€ข Strong prioritization instincts.
โ€ข Comfort prototyping in code with AI tools.
โ€ข Fluency with product analytics, experimentation, and outcome accountability.
โ€ข An AI-native working style.
Company:
CBS Sports, a year-round leader in cross-platform sports coverage, broadcasts a portfolio of events on the CBS Television Network, including THE NFL ON CBS; college football, including the BIG TEN ON CBS; college basketball, including the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship; golf, including The Mastersยฎ, PGA Championship and PGA TOUR; soccer, including the UEFA Champions League and NWSL; and CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR. Founded in 2006, the company is headquartered in New York, USA, with a team of 201-500 employees. The company is currently Growth Stage.
