What is a C licence driver?

C Licence Drivers are professional drivers who hold a Category C driving licence, allowing them to operate large goods vehicles (LGVs) with a maximum authorized mass over 3,500 kg but not exceeding 32,000 kg. These drivers are commonly employed to transport goods over short or long distances, often driving trucks, lorries, or rigid vehicles. To obtain a C Licence, drivers must be at least 18 years old (21 in some regions), hold a valid car licence, and pass both practical and theory driving tests specific to large vehicles. C Licence Drivers play a crucial role in logistics, distribution, and supply chain sectors.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a C licence driver, and why are they important?

To thrive as a C Licence Driver, you need a valid Category C driving licence, good knowledge of road safety regulations, and experience with large commercial vehicles. Familiarity with digital tachographs, GPS navigation systems, and compliance with EU driver hours regulations is typically required. These competencies ensure the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of goods, reducing risks and maintaining high service standards.

What are some common challenges C licence drivers face when making deliveries in urban areas?
