Position type: Full Time
Location: California- Remote
As a Sr. SAS Viya Developer, you will be responsible for:
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior SAS ETL Developer to support enterprise?level migrations from SAS Grid to SAS Viya, primarily within the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain. This role focuses on modernizing existing SAS ETL workflows and batch processes in SAS Viya (without CAS programming). The ideal candidate brings strong hands?on SAS development expertise, a deep understanding of ETL processes, and the ability to collaborate across architecture, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure smooth and successful migrations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support large?scale migration of SAS ETL workflows and batch jobs from SAS Grid to SAS Viya
  • Develop and maintain SAS ETL processes using SAS Base, SAS Macros, and Enterprise Guide
  • Perform data transformations, integrations, and reconciliations
  • Optimize job performance and troubleshoot complex SAS processes
  • Ensure data quality, validation, and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with cross?functional teams to modernize SAS workloads

Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience in SAS Base Programming
  • Expertise in SAS Macros
  • Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide (EG)
  • Proven experience in SAS ETL development and batch processing
  • Hands on experience working in SAS Grid environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in Linux environments

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with the SAS Viya Platform
  • Exposure to Git or other version control systems
  • CI/CD exposure
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
  • Experience with cloud-based analytics deployments

Domain Experience (Preferred)
  • Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance
  • Knowledge of insurance data related to underwriting, claims, pricing, or actuarial functions
  • Familiarity with regulatory and reporting environments
