Job description

BuzzFeed Studios is looking for a dedicated Media Operations Specialist to join our Los Angeles Post Production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining all storage pools and workflows relating to asset migration. Candidates may be asked to troubleshoot common issues and be comfortable with scripting for automations in a MAM ecosystem.
Rate: $350-400/day based on experience
Location: Los Angeles with ability to work in-office.
Responsibilities:
  • Domestic & Global oversight of media
  • Maintain day-to-day care of assets in shared storage environments
  • Manage and maintain ecosystems for Iconik, Qumulo, and FrameIO
  • Act as primary archivist for all completed projects
  • Retrieve archived assets for reuse or redistribution
  • Track and maintain all production drives
  • Identify, inform, and forecast physical purchases
  • Daily management of users on shared storage
  • Coordinate with international offices to transfer and backup data
  • Troubleshoot problems reported by users
  • Prep production drives & DIT kits for productions
  • Document new and updated workflows

Qualifications:
  • 2+ year of experience as a media manager, archive library coordinator, or similar
  • Excellent communication & time management
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent knowledge of Post workflows, including local storage devices, DIT hardware, and modern cabling standards
  • A Fundamental understanding of video standards, frame rates, aspect ratio & data bitrates
  • Experience working with Iconik
  • Experience with AWS buckets and storage tiers
  • Experience with SAN & NAS environments and permissioning preferred
  • Experience with bash and scripting automation preferred
  • Experience with performing API Calls preferred
  • Experience with SMB and network protocols preferred
  • Intermediate Premiere knowledge preferred
  • Intermediate Airtable knowledge preferred
  • Experience with shared remote and proxy-based workflows and remote storage preferred
