Institutional&Buyer Partnerships Representative Contract-to-Leadership

Verde Nexus Global

OR • On-site

Contractor

This job post has expired today. Applications are no longer accepted.

Job description

90-Day Project-Based Contract | Raleigh–Durham–Chapel Hill Area | Hybrid

Company Overview

Verde Nexus is building a globally scalable ecosystem connecting AI-enabled education, workforce development, sustainability, agriculture, digital commerce, institutional partnerships, and marketplace infrastructure.

The platform is designed for global reach across 47+ countries and 22+ languages, bringing together education, instructors, affiliates, vendors, sustainable products, workforce pathways, and institutional commerce within one integrated ecosystem.

As part of its flagship pilot strategy, Verde Nexus is developing measurable workforce, agriculture, supplier, procurement, and institutional-buyer pathways designed to validate the model locally while building infrastructure for global replication.

Engagement

This position begins as a 90-day project-based independent-contractor engagement.

The Institutional & Buyer Partnerships Representative will help develop institutional purchasing relationships and commercial pathways with organizations such as:

  • Hospitals and healthcare systems
  • Universities and colleges
  • Schools and educational systems
  • Food-service organizations
  • Government or public-sector buyers where appropriate
  • Corporate and institutional procurement departments
  • Other qualified commercial or institutional buyers

About the Role

This role is responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and advancing relationships with institutional buyers and procurement decision-makers.

The Representative will conduct buyer discovery, determine purchasing requirements, communicate Verde Nexus’s supplier, workforce, marketplace, and sustainability value proposition, and help move qualified opportunities toward pilot purchasing agreements, commercial commitments, and repeatable institutional relationships.

This is not simply a lead-generation position. The successful candidate will understand how to navigate complex buying organizations and move relationships methodically from prospecting through discovery, qualification, proposal development, procurement review, negotiation, and activation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify institutional buyers, procurement departments, sourcing professionals, category managers, and other relevant decision-makers.
  • Research target organizations and determine purchasing authority, procurement requirements, vendor-registration processes, and decision timelines.
  • Prospect and qualify institutional opportunities through professional email, phone, LinkedIn, virtual, and in-person outreach.
  • Conduct buyer-discovery conversations to understand purchasing needs, volumes, specifications, budgets, timelines, compliance requirements, and supplier expectations.
  • Present Verde Nexus’s institutional-buyer, supplier, workforce, sustainable-commerce, and marketplace value propositions.
  • Coordinate with agriculture, workforce, marketplace, and internal operational teams before representing supply or service capabilities.
  • Develop and support proposals, pilot briefs, purchasing arrangements, partnership packages, and commercial agreements.
  • Advance qualified opportunities toward pilot purchasing agreements and longer-term commercial relationships.
  • Support contract and procurement discussions while escalating appropriate legal, pricing, compliance, or executive matters to leadership.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, contact histories, opportunity stages, commercial value, required documentation, and next actions.
  • Support partner onboarding once agreements are established.
  • Provide market intelligence concerning buyer demand, procurement barriers, pricing considerations, supplier requirements, and emerging institutional opportunities.
  • Deliver concise weekly pipeline and performance reporting to leadership.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is measured by outcomes, not simply activity:

  • Qualified meetings with actual procurement or institutional decision-makers
  • Institutional opportunities advancing through documented pipeline stages
  • Completed buyer-discovery assessments
  • Pilot proposals or purchasing discussions initiated
  • Pilot purchasing agreements or other commercial commitments progressing
  • Eligible commercial revenue generated from directly sourced relationships
  • Accurate CRM documentation and reliable follow-through
  • Repeatable institutional relationships that can support future regional and global expansion

Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in professionals with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Institutional sales
  • B2B business development
  • Procurement or strategic sourcing
  • Institutional partnerships
  • Supplier development or supplier diversity
  • Key-account or enterprise-account development
  • Food-service or agriculture procurement
  • Education, healthcare, government, or university purchasing environments

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Ability to identify and reach the actual purchasing decision-maker
  • Strong prospecting, lead-qualification, and pipeline-management skills
  • Experience navigating organizations with multiple stakeholders and lengthy buying processes
  • Professional communication, presentation, relationship-management, and negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial judgment and disciplined follow-through
  • Comfort using CRM, virtual-meeting, research, and productivity platforms
  • Ability to gather requirements before making commitments concerning pricing, supply, volume, service, or fulfillment
  • Strong documentation and reporting habits
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with a distributed team
  • Alignment with sustainability, economic opportunity, workforce development, and purpose-driven commerce

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Communications, Public Administration, or a related discipline is welcome, but demonstrated relevant experience and measurable results may substitute for formal education requirements.

Compensation & Growth

This is not currently a salaried employee position.

The initial engagement uses a performance/milestone contractor structure, with compensation mechanics defined in writing before work begins.

For qualifying commercial relationships:

3%–5% of directly sourced eligible commercial revenue may apply, subject to written attribution, payment-trigger, duration, step-down, cap, and eligibility provisions.

Percentage-based compensation does not apply to investment capital, charitable donations, or grant awards.

As Verde Nexus receives usable operating capital through its pilot and broader funding strategy, compensation may progress through a funding-triggered model, potentially including:

Project/milestone compensation → recurring contractor retainer → expanded leadership responsibility → consideration for a funded salaried institutional-partnerships leadership position.

Transition into salaried employment is not guaranteed. Strong performers who demonstrate measurable results, sound judgment, reliability, and alignment with Verde Nexus will receive priority consideration as funded positions become available.
