Job description

Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance.

Mark products, work pieces, or equipment with identifying information.

Prepare meat products for sale or consumption. This includes wrapping, weighing, labeling, and pricing different cuts of meat and seafood when working behind the display case.

Prepare and place meat cuts and products in display counter, so they will appear attractive and catch the shopper's eye.

Inspect food products.

Assist in checking and verifying fresh meat received by the Meat Department when required. Take received and prepared products to refrigerated storage, shelf, and display areas. Contribute to controlling freshness and product quality. Observe all Policies and Procedures established for the department. Handle damaged and spoiled products according to Company Policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods. Perform all Departmental duties according to Company Policies and Procedures. Perform other duties and assignments as directed. This might include cashing out customers and helping with receiving and storing groceries. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas. Implements suggestions within parameter of position and refers more complex concerns to supervisor. Participates in and/or contributes to improve quality of service and employee productivity.
