PurposeProvide leadership and strategic direction for Global Wealth Management's (GWM) U.S. cross-border securities regulatory framework, beneficial ownership oversight, and securities regulatory risk management programs, ensuring GWM can pursue growth opportunities, client acquisition, strategic investments, and geographic expansion in a manner that is compliant, scalable, and aligned with the Bank's risk appetite. Act as a trusted advisor to GWM U.S. executive leadership on securities regulatory matters that influence U.S. business strategy, revenue growth, market expansion, client experience, and organizational transformation. Lead the development of innovative regulatory solutions that enable business objectives while protecting the Bank's reputation and maintaining regulatory confidence.

Dimensions- The incumbent regularly interacts with GWM senior leadership teams, legal and risk executives, and external advisors regarding matters that have significant strategic, financial, reputational, and securities regulatory implications.
- Decisions and recommendations influence the Bank's ability to pursue strategic growth initiatives, acquisitions, new business opportunities, client expansion strategies, and cross-border operating models.
- The incumbent must be results oriented with strong organizational and time management skills as the incumbent works in a fast-paced environment and is expected to handle multiple tasks with stringent deadlines.
- The incumbent handles sensitive and confidential information and must have a high level of integrity.
- The incumbent is expected to act independently and arrive at conclusions or recommendations based on the exercise of good judgement on moderately complex decisions falling within standard policies and upscale matters beyond existing policies. Effectively performing this role involves consulting with the team and others as needed.
- Post-Secondary education and/or professional designations.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressively senior experience in wealth management, regulatory risk, legal, compliance, securities regulation, or financial services governance, including leadership experience within a global financial institution.
- Demonstrated experience advising executive leadership on matters involving strategic growth, acquisitions, cross-border expansion, regulatory transformation, and enterprise risk management.
- 5 or more years of management experience or leading a team of direct reports.
- General understanding of Canadian and United States regulatory environment and industry trends.
- Ability to identify opportunities for initiating, improving and/or standardizing policies, procedures, and systems across GWM whether in response to regulatory changes or identified problems and then conceptualize, produce, and promote efficient and cost-effective solutions to various levels up to and including senior management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams to work together in a coordinated way.
- An enquiring mind, sound judgment and a strategic thinker who can, when appropriate, be tactical and pragmatic.
- Ability to learn, adapt and remain resilient in a dynamic regulatory and business environment.
- Strong project management skills with a proven track record of success with regulatory compliance and technology-based compliance projects.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Capable of simultaneously handling multiple tasks and meeting stringent deadlines.
