- Prepare insurance summaries and provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding coverage requirements and risk management strategies.
Underwriting & Exposure Management
- Lead the collection, validation, and organization of underwriting information for insurance placements and renewals.
- Develop and maintain Total Insurable Value (TIV) schedules across operating assets, construction projects, and emerging business platforms.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Development, Operations, and Finance teams to validate asset valuations, replacement cost estimates, project values, and business interruption assumptions.
- Coordinate insurer engineering reviews, site visits, loss control recommendations, and underwriting diligence efforts.
- Assist with catastrophe modeling inputs, exposure analyses, and risk assessments.
- Prepare underwriting submissions and respond to broker and insurer information requests.
Contractual Risk Transfer
- Review and suggest insurance provisions within EPC, construction, equipment supply, operations and maintenance, lease, development, and service agreements.
- Partner with Legal and Procurement teams to ensure contractual insurance requirements align with company standards and available market coverage.
- Evaluate contractor and vendor insurance requirements, including limits, additional insured provisions, waivers of subrogation, primary and non-contributory language, and other contractual obligations.
- Support contractor insurance compliance processes and resolution of coverage deficiencies.
Claims & Risk Operations
- Support claims management activities, including claim intake, documentation, and coordination with brokers, insurers, and third-party administrators.
- Maintain insurance-related reporting and analytics, including premiums, limits, deductibles, claims history, and project insurance costs.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in corporate risk management, insurance brokerage, underwriting, insurance consulting, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and/or energy property insurance
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, industrial, construction, commercial real estate, energy, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience developing underwriting submissions and interacting directly with brokers and insurers.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
