Summary
As a Technical Analyst II, you'll help drive business success by developing, validating, and maintaining critical data that supports our technical and finance teams. You'll use your analytical skills to uncover insights, solve problems, and support evolving business needs while ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Working across teams, you'll build a strong understanding of data, systems, and business processes to help inform decisions and improve outcomes across the organization.
What You Will Do
  • Build and maintain countrywide datasets across all lines of business and systems
  • Develop, validate, and ensure the integrity of data used for business decision-making
  • Optimize processes and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
  • Apply insurance domain knowledge to build datasets supporting Market Pricing analytical needs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Advanced Analytics, IT, and business stakeholders
  • Partner with senior management to ensure analysis is clearly interpreted and drives appropriate action
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, views and stored procedures to support analytical and reporting needs
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
  • Make decisions across a wide variety of scenarios by interpreting guidelines and applying sound judgment and discretion
  • Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to less experienced team members
  • Communicate effectively with business partners and senior leadership
  • Efficiently retrieve, manipulate, and analyze large datasets
  • Support data governance, metadata management and documentation initiatives

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statisctics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Econmics, Business Analytics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience working in Property & Casualty Insurance
  • Experience supporting actuarial, pricing, reserving, claims or predictive modeling functions strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical and coding expertise
  • Advanced SQL development skills including complex joins, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), aggregations, window functions, performance optimization and data validation techniques
  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling and data warehouse principles
  • Prior experience with PowerBI preferred
  • Experience with Git, Bitbucket, source control or DevOps practices preferred
  • Experience implementing methodologies or process improvements
  • Ability to independently complete intermediate analyses and contribute to complex projects under managerial guidance
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple workstreams simultaneously and prioritizing tasks effectively

Pay Transparency: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range: $77,700 - $114,500
