Position Summary

The Specialist, Business Partner Relations (SBPR) will function as the liaison between the business units and Legal on Independent Business Partner (IBP) relations. This work will include IBP liaison, IBP contract disputes, IBP relations education, and in-market legal concerns. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in IBP contractual agreements and processes related to all IBP interactions and will also serve as a voice for our frontline IBP’s and strive to enhance our partnership.

Key Job ResponsibilitiesMindsets & Behaviors

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Support achievement of zero workplace injuries by following and coaching all BBU safety principles and beliefs within the Grupo Bimbo (GB) safety platform.
  • Instill best practices with business units and frontline leaders for coaching and communicating with IBPs.
  • Ensure all transfers of distribution rights between IBP’s and/or distribution companies are seamless and efficient.
  • Partner with Operational Sales Leaders and Zone Sales Leaders in the recruitment and selection process of Independent Business Partners.
  • Contribute to depositions and court hearings while maintaining our ethical standards.
  • Create alignment between frontline leaders and BBU’s legal department to alleviate escalated IBP contract disputes.
  • Attend IBP roundtables, creating an open dialogue between IBPs and SBPRs to improve on processes and relationships.
Selling & Operational Capabilities
  • Act as the subject matter expert and disseminate knowledge regarding brand, channel, geographical, and margin complexity to support the IBPs throughout the route transaction process.
  • Support and align with BBU sales leaders to manage and maintain route health and structure.
  • Partner with the Distribution Engineering team and the Sales Strategy team to develop and facilitate transformational objectives.
  • Lead the execution of projects and transformation objectives developed by cross-functional teams.

Education and Work History

Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field. A combination of education, training, and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.

Ideal Candidate Experience
  • 5-7 years of sales management experience with a strong operational acumen.
  • 2+ years DSD experience a plus.
  • Proficient in systems such as BUSS, MicroStrategy and Margin Miner.
  • Knowledge of Independent Business Partner distribution agreements.
  • Excellent presentation, interpretive, interpersonal skills. Strategic and process driven mindset.
  • Travel is required, 30%
Required Computer Skills
  • PowerPoint, Excel, and Word proficiency.
  • Data analysis proficiency.
Physical Demands

Able to use a variety of communication methods on a frequent basis. Use a notebook computer and standard office equipment printers, fax, phone, etc. Able to sit, stand, stoop, and have use of hand-motor coordination regularly. Use various forms of transportation for extended periods of time on a periodic basis. Frequent walking.
