Job description

Business Development Manager - 3PL

Industry: Logistics, Warehousing & 3PL Services
Location: Miami Metropolitan Area, Florida| Field-Based Role
The Opportunity
A well-established Miami-based third-party logistics operator is seeking a driven, field-ready Business Development Manager to accelerate its commercial growth across South Florida and eventually expanding to other markets. This role offers a competitive base salary, uncapped commissions, and the opportunity to build a high-impact sales career within a growing logistics organization.

Our client specializes in rail transloading, warehousing, drayage, and integrated distribution services for domestic and international markets. Backed by strategically located facilities and strong international support, the company delivers end-to-end logistics solutions across complex supply chains.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated sales professional to make a measurable impact by developing new business, building strategic customer relationships, and contributing to the growth of one of Florida's leading logistics providers.
The Role
This is a hands-on commercial role focused primarily on developing new business. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you'll have the autonomy to grow your territory while collaborating closely with an experienced operations and leadership team to deliver customized logistics solutions.
Success in this role will be measured by new customer acquisition, revenue growth, and the development of long-term strategic relationships. This is an ideal opportunity for a true hunter who enjoys opening doors, creating opportunities, and closing complex logistics solutions.
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Generating and closing new business across the company's core service offerings, including warehousing & distribution, drayage, rail-to-truck transloading, intermodal services, project freight, and bulk cargo.
  • Proactively prospecting and engaging shippers throughout the South Florida market, including outreach at ports, terminals, and key logistics corridors.
  • Managing a South Florida territory through regular local outreach, with occasional travel (approximately 10%) for customer meetings and industry events.
  • Collaborating with operations and pricing teams to develop accurate, competitive proposals.
  • Representing the company at industry events while expanding your professional network within the logistics and transportation community.
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate is a self-starting, field-oriented sales professional with a proven track record of generating new business within the logistics or supply chain industry. Above all, we're looking for someone who builds their own pipeline, thrives with minimal supervision, and is energized by winning new business.
  • Logistics or 3PL experience: Experience in warehousing, freight forwarding, transloading, intermodal, or supply chain services is strongly preferred. Existing relationships within the logistics, transportation, freight, or shipping industries are a strong advantage.
  • Hunter mentality: You enjoy building new business, networking, and developing long-term client relationships from the ground up. You're proactive, persistent, and motivated by achieving results.
  • B2B sales expertise: You understand how to sell complex service solutions, manage varying sales cycles, and navigate multiple stakeholders. Experience selling to manufacturers, importers, exporters, distributors, retailers, construction materials companies, food & beverage organizations, or other logistics-intensive industries is highly desirable.
  • Field-oriented: You enjoy meeting customers face-to-face and are comfortable conducting port visits, terminal outreach, and on-site client meetings.
  • Coachable and adaptable: You welcome feedback, follow established processes, and adapt quickly as business priorities evolve.
  • Bilingual: Fluency in both languages is preffered to serve the diverse South-Florida client market.
  • Technology proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Office and CRM systems to manage prospecting activities, sales pipelines, forecasting, and customer relationships.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
  • Uncapped performance-based commission plan with significant earning potential.
  • PTO and Holidays
  • Health Insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • Dental & Vision Insurance (Voluntary)
  • 401(k) with employer match up to 6%
  • Additional benefits details will be provided during the interview process.
Search Process
This search is being conducted in partnership with ezHIRE. If you're a results-driven logistics sales professional who thrives on winning new business and wants to be rewarded for your performance, we'd love to hear from you. Qualified candidates are invited to apply through the ezHIRE portal.
