Title: Mathematics Teacher
Description: This position will include both Junior High and High School classes.
Qualifications:
  • Must hold a valid Indiana Math License at a 7 - 12 grade level

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in curriculum review and design
  • Effectively collaborate with department and/or grade-level teachers and other colleagues
  • Effectively implement district and building initiatives
  • Remain current on instructional practices in education
  • Create active learning environment and collaboratively design settings that foster an enriching, nurturing, and safe climate where diversity and academic risk taking are valued
  • Hold and articulate high expectations for student learning, achievement, and behavior
  • Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives and standards-based instruction
  • Communicate instruction clearly and effectively
  • Provide effective classroom management that includes teaching routines and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment
  • Provides individual and small group instruction and adapts the curriculum to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
  • Plan a program for students that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
  • Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports in a timely and consistent manner
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Refer students for alternative services as provided by the District (ESL, Reading, Special Reading)
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations
  • Maintain good communication with parents/legal guardian
  • Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment/materials, and facilities
  • Abide by state statues, school board policies and regulations
  • Serve on committees as assigned
  • 1:1 environment with Chromebooks
  • Working knowledge of the Google suite including Google Classroom
  • Attend required meetings
  • Other duties as assigned by building principal and/or supervisor

Requirements:
  • Bachelors License
  • Complete and pass an Expanded Criminal background and CPS Check

Compensation:
  • Competitive pay depending upon experience

Contracted days:
  • 180 student days plus an additional 4 staff days

Reports to: Building Principal and/or Building Supervisor
