Weโ€™re looking for a Manager, Business Intelligence & Analytics, to lead and develop a team of analytics professionals responsible for transforming complex business data into actionable insights that drive performance across our stores, operations, and support functions.

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Business Intelligence & Analytics is responsible for leading a team of Business Intelligence Analysts who support data-driven decision-making across OXXO USA. This role partners with functional leaders to understand priorities, guide analytical work, and ensure the team delivers accurate, timely, and actionable insights that improve business performance.

The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, people leadership, analytical expertise, and communication skills. This role is expected to coach and develop the Business Intelligence team, build trusted partnerships across the organization, and help strengthen OXXOโ€™s analytics capabilities as the business continues to grow.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, develop, and grow the Business Intelligence and Analytics team.
  • Establish team priorities, performance expectations, and professional development plans.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decisionโ€‘making.
  • Mentor analysts in technical skills, business acumen, and stakeholder engagement.
Business Partnership & Strategy
  • Partner with leaders across Fuel, Merchandise, Operations, Finance, Accounting, and HR to identify opportunities for performance improvement and profitability growth.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner by transforming data into actionable business insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define, develop, and maintain enterprise KPI frameworks and reporting standards.
  • Recommend strategies and initiatives based on analytical findings, market trends, and business performance.
Analytics & Reporting
  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
  • Translate large and complex datasets into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Deliver analysis that connects operational performance to financial outcomes.
  • Support executive and operational leadership with recurring and ad hoc reporting needs.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of key business metrics.
  • Develop forecasting models that account for seasonality, market conditions, and changing business dynamics.
  • Support budgeting, planning, and performance management processes.
  • Analyze inventory performance and its impact on profitability, cash flow, and financial results.
  • Evaluate business initiatives, capital investments, and operational performance through financial and analytical modeling.
  • Partner with Finance and operational leaders to improve forecasting accuracy and business planning effectiveness.
  • Develop forecasting models for highly seasonal business environment.
  • Strong understanding of seasonality and demand forecasting concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize large, complex datasets into actionable business strategies.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and its impact on financial performance.
Data Management & Governance
  • Promote best practices in data management, analytics development, and reporting governance.
  • Collaborate with technology and business teams to improve data quality and accessibility.
  • Support the evolution of data architecture, data warehousing, and enterprise analytics capabilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data analysis, reporting, finance analytics, operations analytics, or a similar analytical discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, coaching, and mentoring analysts or analytical project teams.
  • Proven ability to guide the analysis of large, complex datasets and develop analytical and financial models that support business decisionโ€‘making.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex modeling, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with modern BI, data visualization, and data warehousing technologies such as SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated success designing, managing, or delivering dashboards, reports, scorecards, and scalable analytical solutions for business stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of data mining, data integration, reporting automation, and migration practices within a complex business environment.
  • Strong analytical and problemโ€‘solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and translate complex business challenges into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings, recommendations, and business impacts to technical and nonโ€‘technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholder requests in a fastโ€‘paced business environment.
  • Ability to train, coach, and support analysts and end users in the adoption of reporting, analytics, and selfโ€‘service BI tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of data structures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within the convenience store, fuel retail, or energy distribution industry.
  • Expertise in fuel supply, fuel pricing, and fuel economics.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or other enterprise financial ERP systems.
  • Understanding of retail margin development and category performance management.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data warehousing, and analytics best practices.
  • Experience partnering across Operations, Fuels, Marketing, Loyalty, Accounting, Finance, and HR functions.
  • Experience applying predictive analytics and data science methodologies to business forecasting and performance improvement.
  • Advanced knowledge of PDI systems.
