LabAnswer has architected, implemented, deployed and/or supported hundreds of major scientific informatics systems across more than a thousand laboratories. LabAnswer performs significant laboratory automation work in pharmaceuticals, bio-pharmaceuticals, medical devices, forensics, and life sciences research laboratories spanning research, development and manufacturing/QC operations.

The LabAnswer team has a rare combination of laboratory science, IT, business and regulatory expertise. We specialize in helping companies strategize, architect, implement and support scientific data management and laboratory automation projects.

Most of the LabAnswer positions will require 50% travel and the ability to work from a home office.ย ย  Our consultantsย are able to live anywhere in the USA.

Job Description

The StarLIMS Architect will assess business needs and system issues and configure, customize, update, and tune StarLIMS LIMS systems system to improve operational effeciency. The position will gather user requirements, create and maintain procedures, and assist in the configuration/customization of the system. Candidates with similar experience in other LIMS or laboratory systems may qualify for structured and on-the-job training in StarLIMS software.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Gather user requirements
  • Support StarLIMS LIMS
  • Configure and customize StarLIMS
  • Integrate instruments with StarLIMS
  • Enter and edit of all relevant static data
  • Act as liaison between internal laboratory users and vendor to address various system issues and user requirements
  • Conduct user-training sessions for users
  • Evaluate product enhancements and capabilities, in addition to implementing upgrades as required
Qualifications

A qualified candidate will possess:

  • Thorough understanding of laboratory environments and workflows
  • ย Advanced level StarLIMS knowledge (programming and system architecture)
  • Strong service-oriented mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and go above and beyond to meet the team's goals
  • Ability to contribute to multiple projects for different business stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Education:


Bachelor Degree in chemistry, biology, computer science, or related discipline
