Job description

Serve as the primary liaison for onboarding and educating customers on commercial graphics processes, ensuring a seamless transition from project concept to production. Collaborate cross-functionally with customers, sales, design, account services, technical services, graphics production, and manufacturing teams to develop, streamline, and commercialize new projects, revisions, and process improvements. Provide guidance on file specifications, artwork setup, print recommendations, and graphic solutions to optimize production quality and efficiency. And, drive adoption of Graphics Direct ordering by improving customer education, identifying process enhancements, and increasing the speed and accuracy of graphic order processing from entry through proof approval.

What will I do in this role?
  1. On-board new customers to understand and utilize our commercialized print specifications to improve speed and quality of the Proofing process.
  2. Provide hands-on education to customers, designers and sales representatives regarding BELMARK’s graphics, printing and converting capabilities, specifications and tolerances to optimize speed and quality.
  3. Evaluate customer/designer supplied art files/print images and consult with customers on packaging designs to improve the overall appearance, marketability, and printability of the customer’s design based on BELMARK’s file specifications and tolerances in a specific business unit. This may include preproduction meetings with the customer, external designers/design firms or internal production personnel.
  4. Commercialize customer accounts upon demonstration of file specification conformance to allow future artwork projects to process via Graphics Direct.
  5. Continually work with customers to reduce the frequency of deviations to our file specifications.
  6. When necessary, document agreed upon file deviations from specifications in the Graphics Master Design record to allow for Graphics Direct.
  7. Continually promote and educate customers on the advantages of BELMARK’s branded Trident and Trident MAX print formats.
  8. Serve as the internal voice of the customer for graphic design questions regarding projects from Sales, Account Service, Customers/Designers and internal graphics team.
  9. Must learn and exhibit comprehensive knowledge of BELMARK’s graphics/print/press/converting capabilities for a single business unit.
  10. Establish clear and concise guidelines and instructions for Graphics Production for files not yet eligible for Graphic Direct.
  11. Responsible for customer’s label management by family, which includes: understanding color build requirements, standardized colors used for all elements and references, etc.
  12. Maintain Quality/Productivity rates within department standards.
  13. Expected to perform presentations and training for internal and external customers.
  14. Assist and/or host customer internal visits for tours and/or press approvals, host online
  15. virtual press approvals, or attend online meetings and trainings.
  16. May travel with Sales Representatives to customer’s site to provide customer education.
  17. May coordinate, review and finalize proof approvals.
  18. Create references for designs.
  19. May provide consultation on customer designs after order is printed.
  20. May assist in label design/creation according to customer/BELMARK specifications.
  21. Document discussions and requests regarding projects.
  22. Work with Graphics Pre-Press to monitor graphic orders, prioritize graphic orders, expedite graphic orders, track graphic orders, and answer general questions about graphic orders.
  23. Review art from Graphics Pre-Press as needed.
  24. Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
  25. May perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires any combination equivalent to graduation from High School, minimum two (2) years of college/Tech School, and/or minimum three (3) years of related printing
  • Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language. experience in flexographic and/or offset graphics experience.
  • Understanding a variety of packaging machinery concerning eyemarks, cut off tolerances, layouts, etc.
  • Knowledge of design specifications, die/template configurations and graphic art services.
  • Have general knowledge of legal requirements-e.g. NLEA, UPC, etc.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to operate a Macintosh computer and understand appropriate design applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow detailed written and oral instructions.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines. May be required to work some overtime.
  • Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to communicate and answer questions in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Must be able to resolve questions, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information.
  • Ability to formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans.
  • May require some travel.
