Senior Reporter (Infrastructure Finance)Position Overview

The North American Infrastructure Finance Senior Reporter will be a vital member of the Green Street Infrastructure team, driving a busy news beat. This role will see the successful candidate take over coverage of the greenfield infrastructure finance market in North America. This is an exciting opportunity to write about the financing of important infrastructure projects across this region. As a journalist on Green Street Infrastructure you will be required to write business news articles with rolling deadlines throughout the day, building a network of high-level market contacts through daily telephone calls (including investors, developers, bankers, lawyers and regulators). Green Street Infrastructure has an established reputation in the region and a contacts book that is constantly evolving. This is one of the most active news beats for greenfield and brownfield infrastructure, driven by some of the biggest companies in the world and financed by the largest institutions. These are impactful deals with massive significance on the ground. In addition to daily news reporting responsibilities, the journalist will produce regular analysis content. Other responsibilities include writing case studies and supporting the data team as well.

Job Responsibilities
  • Pitching and writing at least 3-5 exclusives per week and/or 6-8 other proprietary content per week
  • Write news stories leveraging IJGlobal data
  • Maintaining broad and high-level contact with the market through daily telephone calls and frequent face-to-face/virtual meetings
  • Collaborating with other team members and other functions
Candidate Profile
  • Excellent written English
  • Min. 2-3 years of experience as a financial journalist
  • Strong reporting and interviewing skills
  • Infrastructure project finance knowledge/experience is advantageous but would also consider experience in debt capital markets, structured finance or asset-backed finance
  • Able to network well and build a strong book of contacts
  • Willing to make cold calls
  • Efficient, organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Team player
  • Strong communicator
Compensation and Benefits

In addition to the posted base salary range, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.

Pay Range USD $90,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr.

  • Incentive Performance Bonus + Incentive Performance Bonus Options
