Job description

Join a team that protects the resilience of some of the most critical cloud infrastructure in the world. The Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) Joint Operations Bussiness Continuity Sr Specialist will build and scale crisis response and business continuity programs that safeguard workforce safety and cloud service availability. You'll work directly with AWS leaders; operations teams; and US and International agencies to prepare for, and respond to real-world events that matter.
ADC Joint Operations is looking for a business continuity expert to develop and expand our resilience program. You'll be responsible for establishing and maintaining plans and processes, and advising AWS leaders on risks that could have an impact on cloud infrastructure and service availability.
We're looking for someone who has built robust resiliency programs in technical environments at large organizations and found innovative ways to assess, measure and treat resiliency risk. A successful candidate is one who will build trusted partnerships across technical and non-technical teams; have a desire to dive deep to understand how the organization works; and be customer obsessed with process improvement to better the customer experience. Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, both physical and logical, and cloud services is preferred.
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and launch a crisis management program that scales across multiple ADC regions and government partners
- Develop disaster event response protocols and processes
- Synthesize risk intelligence from multiple sources to drive proactive posture changes and executive decision-making and alerts to infrastructure and service teams
- Create and implement emergency and crisis response training for crisis managers and cloud operations teams
- Integrate crisis plans across internal stakeholders and government agencies
- Develop, test, and continuously improve business continuity and disaster recovery plans through exercises and real-world activations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of program management, project management or product management experience
- 8+ years of experience in emergency management, crisis response, or business continuity in large-scale commercial or federal environments
- 8+ years engaging with executive-level leaders on operational risk and crisis decision-making
- Demonstrated experience building or scaling resilience programs and repeatable scalable processes (not just maintaining existing ones)
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with crisis management in cloud infrastructure or data center environments
- Familiarity with federal continuity frameworks (e.g., FEMA COOP, FCD-1, NIST)
- Technical product or program management experience developing, implementing, and exercising processes
- Experience conducting tabletop exercises or full-scale drills with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering; Service; Infrastructure teams, etc.)
- Technical understanding of cloud infrastructure (physical and logical) and distributed systems

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
