Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer, the VP HR, Safety and Security protects the environment, employees, and business from harm to allow them to reach full potential.  The VP HR, Safety and Security directs ULS safety policies, regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA), and risk management strategies to minimize workplace accidents and hazards. This role drives a company-wide safety culture, manage incident responses, and report key performance metrics directly to executive leadership.

  • Bachelor's, preferably a Master's, degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Physical Sciences, Industrial Safety Management, or a relevant field and minimum 10-15 years of working experience in EHS, security, risk management, or related fields within a global organization
  • Operating experience in manufacturing and/or laboratory operations
  • Knowledge of international EHS regulations, physical security standards and business continuity frameworks 
  • Familiar with industry testing protocols (e.g., indoor air testing)
  • Strong crisis-management experience, including real-world incident leadership
  • Proven track record of building enterprise-wide programs and influencing senior executives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Requires public speaking experience and experience with Board presentations
  • External network with professional associations
  • Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AI tools such as CoPilot
  • Excellent knowledge of global trends in Business Continuity practice and programs

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $224K - $300K and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 40% of base salary and a 50% RSU and PSU grant. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (25 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).

  • Leads and develops strategy for Environmental, Health and Safety, Business Continuity and Physical Security function for UL Solutions global business. 
  • Develop strategies and programs to achieve a world-class Safety & Security culture
  • Responsible for protecting people, assets, operations, and brand reputation across a global footprint
  • Manage function and strategic investments within approved capex and opex budget
  • Ensure UL Solutions is fully compliant with Local, State, Federal, and International laws and regulations including duty of care
  • Lead implementation of Business Continuity, Physical Security and EHS programs and initiatives
  • Oversee a robust audit process to demonstrate compliance with all laws and regulations
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and testing the Company's business continuity program. Support all business plan activities necessary to enable the Organization to manage a crisis event as well as meet compliance requirements for BCP planning
  • Provide leadership on environmental, health, afety and security performance issues resolution with business by providing counsel on corrective action and review documentation as needed
  • Manages the performance of direct reports by developing accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing career counseling, feedback and guidance and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to
  • Performs other duties as directed.
