Job Description:
A Software Business Analyst is a technology-focused role that sits between the business/customer, IT, software developers, and vendors. They gather business needs and translate them into clear technical requirements for development teams.
They help map workflows, define system requirements, manage JIRA tickets, support Agile teams, coordinate with vendors, track project risks and timelines, and remove roadblocks. The role also involves identifying opportunities to use automation, AI, cloud applications, APIs, and SaaS to improve business processes.
The candidate must have a strong technical background and be able to drive development teams to deliver projects using Agile methodologies. candidate needs to have Scrum/Agile Certification as well.
This is not primarily a software development role. The BA serves as the bridge between the business and technical teams, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and projects stay organized and on track.
The candidate must be certified in Agile/scrum and should have a technical background. Should be able to drive the team to deliver projects using Agile methodologies.
Software Business Analyst
The Business Analyst (BA) will lead the analysis, documentation, and communication of requirements to support IT, business and product strategy, development and delivery using automation, workflow and AI tools. The BA will assist with identifying and designing system requirements, project planning and status reporting for implementation and rollout of assigned projects.
The BA role will design and document workflow, understanding and translating the customer's business requirements into software requirements. Additionally, this position will drive functional and technical analysis, help with resource planning and business communications by leveraging a deep understanding of business process, technology, and industry best practices.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Gather, analyze, document, and translate business requirements into technical requirements and create traceability metrics.
  • Define system and software requirements, flows and interfaces based on customer needs.
  • Facilitate meetings for design, requirements gathering, resourcing, etc., engaging vendors as needed.
  • Estimate effort, skillset and timeline required for project requirements analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Business team to proactively identify and remove roadblocks for development.
  • Ensure team is following daily Agile cadences.
  • Process JIRA tickets for application portfolio.
  • Improve project efficiency by promoting and influencing continuous integration techniques.
  • Identify and effectively communicate project risks to necessary stakeholders.
  • Participate in customer meetings and act as the key escalation point on project issues.
  • Create, maintain, and enforce standards/procedures for documenting requirements and use cases.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to the team(s).
Experience
  • Gathering and translating business requirements into technical documentation (5+ years).
  • Business Analysis experience within large-scope technical projects (5+ years).
  • Working with Agile development teams.
  • Working with Cloud/Web application and/or SaaS development projects, 5+ years.
  • Big Data and API integration experience is a plus
  • Automotive or OEM experience is preferred.
