Job description

Our Business Analysts serve as critical liaisons between business stakeholders and IT, supporting enterprise ERP (Dynamics 365 and AX2012), reporting platforms (Power BI) and EDI. This role is responsible for gathering requirements, optimizing business processes, supporting system enhancements, and delivering actionable insights through data analytics and reporting.

The ideal candidate combines strong functional knowledge of D365/AX2012 with data analysis expertise and a structured, compliance-aligned approach to documentation and change management.

People Relationships and Leadership:

Reports to Manager, Business Analysis

Collaborates closely with IT leadership, developers, data teams, and business stakeholders

 
SUMMARY
 
Focusing on supporting ERP systems (primarily Microsoft AX 2012 and D365) and supporting production, provides business analysis, meeting facilitation, training, and implementation of companywide business applications. Identifies opportunities to improve business processes and to use technology to improve revenue, reduce costs, improve productivity, and increase customer service. Responsible for break / fix and application enhancement support. Acts as the project core team member for future D365 implementations.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Acts as IT Business Analyst as assigned by management for key business system initiatives, projects, and implementations. 
  • Partner with business units (Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing) to gather, document, and validate business requirements 
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications for D365, AX2012, and reporting solutions 
  • Create documentation (requirements, process flows, SOPs) aligned to SOX/CMMC controls, where applicable
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirement/solution design sessions
  • Provide functional support across D365 Finance & Operations and legacy AX2012 environments 
  • Analyze system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with technical teams for resolution 
  • Support system configurations, testing (UAT), and deployment activities 
  • Assist in data validation, user account provisioning and patch testing
  • Monitor and recommend improvements to improve system efficiency and user experience
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement across ERP workflows 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and digital transformation efforts
  • Document “current state” vs “future state” processes with clear gap analysis for system enhacements
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and regression testing 
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles and defect tracking 
  • Participate in change management processes, including impact assessments and release documentation
  • Support audit requests with structured documentation and traceability 
  • Maintain data governance standards and reporting controls
  • Works on special projects and performs other duties as required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business administration or related field; experience and technology certifications may be substituted for education
  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting ERP systems 
  • Strong experience with requirements gathering and documentation 
  • Proficiency in SQL and/or data analysis tools, preferred
  • Hands-on experience with: 
    • Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations preferred)
    • AX2012 (legacy support and data analysis)
    • Power BI (report design, DAX, data modeling)
    • EDI/SPS Commerce Fulfillment Center (file types 850, 810 and 856)
  • Excellent client relation, verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify priorities and manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Must be comfortable interacting with all levels of company and customer organizations
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and in team settings
