Description This listing is for individuals interested in being a substitute worker in the areas of Maintenance/ Custodial, Cafeteria, Bus Monitor and Bus Driver.
Bus Monitor:
Reports To: Transportation Supervisor
Job Goal: To assist in providing safe transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extra-curricular program.
Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus.
  2. Assists young or disabled students in getting in and off the bus.
  3. Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly manner.
  4. Provides written records of violations of the student code to the transportation supervisor.
  5. Collects and turns over to the school secretary those personal items left on the bus by the students.
  6. Rides the bus to aid disabled students in being seated and strapped in as necessary.
  7. Performs any other duties assigned or required.
Cafeteria Staff:
Reports To: Supervisor of Child Nutrition/Principal
Job Goal: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness.
Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Assists in the preparation of food portions and the cafeteria counter.
  2. Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter.
  3. Removes used dishes and assists in the cleaning of counters, tables, and furnishings in the dining area.
  4. Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
Performs related duties as required including duties at special meal functions.
Maintenance Worker
Reports To: Supervisor of Maintenance
Job Goal: To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Assumes primary responsibility for the safe condition of flooring, door frames, doors, windows, staircases, stair treads, wall paneling, ceiling paneling, hardware and similar structural elements in the facilities owned or operated by the district.
  2. Assumes primary responsibility for the safe condition of lighting fixtures, electrical appliances, fixtures, wiring, air conditioning and refrigerator units, and similar electric elements in the facilities owned or operated by the district.
  3. Assumes primary responsibility for the safe condition of pipes, drains, and plumbing fixtures in the facilities owned or operated by the district.
  4. Communicates completion of work orders to team members. Be able to work well with others.
  5. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations in the work place.
  6. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, if assigned.
  7. Operate and drive lawn tractors, lawn mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, skill saws, drills, and any other power equipment deemed necessary for the job.
  8. Willing to do janitorial work when needed.
  9. Maintains and cares for school grounds.
  10. Interprets plans and sketches in carrying out landscaping designs.
  11. Performs any other task assigned or required.

Bus Driver
Reports To: Supervisor of Transportation
Job Goal: To transport student to and from school locations and school-related activities in a safe and orderly manner.
Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Must be able to interact effectively with a large number of people of various ages and needs.
  2. Must follow a designed route and an established time schedule while picking up students and dropping them off at specific locations.
  3. Must navigate the bus through sometimes heavy traffic and must remain alert at all times in order to prevent accidents.
  4. Must maintain order and enforcing the school system's rules for student conduct.
  5. Must pass a drug and alcohol screening before employment and any random screening in the future.
  6. Must prepare weekly reports on the number of students transported, worked hours, miles traveled and fuel consumption.
