Barnstable Public Schools - Transportation

Sign on bonus up to $2,000 and paid training available!

School Bus Drivers - Permanent and Spares

Needed to provide daily transportation of special needs students, to and from programs, for Barnstable Public Schools.

  • Must be high school graduate, have bus driving experience with good driving record, have current CDL Class B with Passenger and S Endorsement, RMV School Bus Certificate, Medical Certificate, CPR Certificate. Class C will be considered.
  • We offer paid training for qualified unlicensed candidates with a good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a CORI and fingerprint check.
  • Spare Driver positions are on call as needed. Not eligible for benefits.
  • Permanent Driver positions are September through June with possible summer schedule depending on the district's needs. Employees working 20 hours or more are eligible for benefits. The rate of pay is $28.07 per hour.

Training bonus and attendance bonus for eligible staff.

School Bus Monitors - Permanent and Spares
  • Will provide daily, safe monitoring of special needs students that ride buses to and from programs for Barnstable Public Schools.
  • Must be high school graduate, have prior experience working with special needs children; prior monitoring experience a plus, have CPR certificate, be able to relate well with the public.
  • Must be able to pass a CORI and fingerprint check.
  • Spare Monitor positions are on-call as needed. Not eligible for benefits.
  • Permanent Monitor positions are September through June with possible summer schedule depending on the need of the district. Employees working 20 hours or more are eligible for benefits.

Bus driver rate of pay is $29.77 per hour and bus monitor rate of pay is $20.61 per hour.
