WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Conduct classroom and behind-the-wheel CDL training for newly hired drivers
  • Deliver training in accordance with Starr standards, FMCSA regulations, and industry best practices
  • Evaluate driver performance and provide coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback
  • Conduct road evaluations and skills assessments
  • Provide refresher, remedial, and safety-focused training for current drivers as needed
  • Reinforce defensive driving techniques, passenger safety practices, and customer service expectations
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, ELDT, and state licensing requirements
  • Maintain accurate training records
  • Support driver development initiatives

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid CDL Class A or Class B license with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
  • Minimum 2 years of training, coaching, or instructional experience
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to teach and coach adult learners effectively
  • Flexible availability including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination
  • Ability to pass required drug and alcohol screenings
  • Ability to successfully complete all required background checks

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Motorcoach experience
  • Experience training CDL drivers
  • Knowledge of FMCSA Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulations
  • Experience conducting road tests and driver evaluations
