ย  ย PBS Body Shop is seeking a skilled and dependable Bus Body Repair Technician to join our team. We are committed to maintaining a safe and reliable fleet of school buses, and we need someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, safety, and attention to detail. If you have experience with welding, fabrication, and body repair - and enjoy hands-on work that makes a difference - we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform structural and cosmetic body repairs on school buses while ensuring all work meets or exceeds DOT safety standards.ย 
  • Fabricate, repair, and replace structural components including crossmembers, door bottoms, side panels, flooring, and other body components.ย 
  • Perform MIG welding, cutting, grinding, and metal fabrication projects as needed.ย 
  • Conduct rust repair, rust abatement, corrosion treatment, and preventative maintenance.ย 
  • Inspect and assess vehicle damage and determine proper repair methods.ย 
  • Read and interpret repair estimates, blueprints, SOPs, and work orders.ย 
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, welders, torches, and fabrication equipment.ย 
  • Maintain accurate repair documentation and communicate repair progress with management.ย 
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance staff to ensure timely repairs and vehicle readiness.ย 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.ย 
  • Perform additional shop duties as assigned.ย 
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in metal fabrication, welding, body repair, or heavy-duty vehicle repair.ย 
  • Proficiency in MIG welding and metal fabrication techniques.ย 
  • Strong understanding of structural repair and safe fabrication practices.ย 
  • Experience with rust repair and corrosion prevention.ย 
  • Ability to read and interpret estimates, repair procedures, and SOPs.ย 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.ย 
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.ย 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.ย 
  • Valid driver's license.ย 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.ย

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Collision repair, welding, or related fields.ย 
  • Experience working on school buses, commercial trucks, or heavy-duty equipment.ย
