Job description

The Construction Health & Safety Technician plays an independent role supporting safety on commercial building projects. This position is responsible for conducting thorough safety audits and hazard identification to maintain compliance with OSHA standards and ensure a safe work environment. The technician will regularly perform equipment inspections, incident reporting, and site monitoring, utilizing general construction and safety management software tools. Occasional local travel may be required to various job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety audits and site monitoring to enforce compliance
  • Identify hazards and assess risks to mitigate potential incidents
  • Perform equipment inspections ensuring safety standards are met
  • Document and report incidents accurately and promptly
  • Maintain up-to-date safety documentation and procedures
  • Utilize construction and safety management software for reporting and tracking
  • Support local construction sites with occasional travel

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in construction health and safety
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification
  • Certified Safety Technician (CST)
