Located in Clackamas, OR
Salary: 32.60
The purpose of the truck driver is to load and deliver both bulk and packaged goods to our local Portland metro customer base.
Responsibilities
The driver will be responsible for safely operating a truck and flatbed trailer, or bulk pneumatic trailer, as well as dump truck and pup. Maintaining a current CDL as required by state and company policy
Primary Duties
  • Safely operate a variety of truck / transmission and trailer set ups
  • Maintain written driver logs as required by state and DOT regulations
  • Completes daily inspections of all equipment including fluid levels, tire wear and pressure, etc.
  • Comply with all DOT rules and regulations
  • Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing chains, light bulbs, etc.
  • Appropriately uses blocks, straps and other materials to secure cargo prior to transit
  • Operate a variety of equipment to load and unload vehicle
  • Keeps vehicle clean inside and out
  • Participate in GDPM's Lean 5S and Kaizen programs
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned.

Skills/Abilities
  • Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
  • Map reading and route planning experience
  • An innate sense of direction
  • Self-starter who works well independently
  • Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
  • High level of composure and good stress management

Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid CDL
  • Clean driving record
  • Doubles Endorsement or ability to obtain
  • Knowledge of pneumatics
  • At least 2 years industrial truck driving experience
  • Manual Transmission Endorsement
