Hiring Manager: Alberto G Mendoza
This is an Hourly Non-Exempt Position
Company
USC Carlsbad, LLC
Responsibilities and Requirements:
  • First, inspect their work area and equipment for safety.
  • One person operates the belts and the crusher, another runs the loading station, and a third runs the forklift, removing and stacking the full bags.
  1. The first operator runs the actual controls for the belt, crushers, and scale. This consists of ensuring everyone is clear and ready for the equipment to start up and fill the bags. Then zero the scales and push the start buttons to start the equipment until the bag is filled.
  2. The second position is responsible for setting a pallet with cardboard on it, installing the bag on the scale, and attaching it to the fill spout. After the bag is full, the loader removes the fill portion of the bag and ties it shut.
  3. The third operator operates the forklift; he then removes the pallet with the bag and stacks it, ready for loading. The fourth operator also runs a forklift to load the trucks. Operating the forklift requires the operator to shift from forward to reverse and to raise and lower the forks to pick up and move the bags.
  • Personnel classified as bulk bag loaders are primarily used for clean-up when we do not have any bulk bags to load. This involves shoveling salt from below the conveyor belts. The main cleanup is shoveling salt around our screen areas. They can also be used to fill vacancies for truck drivers, loader operators, wash plant operators, and screen operators when we have vacations, sickness, or other absences.
  • All work assignments must be conducted in accordance with Company and MSHA safety guidelines.
  • The loader must maintain the utmost level of product quality.

Responsibilities are not limited to the above and will also include other jobs assigned by their supervisor.
