Job description

Join our team as a Building Maintenance Worker, where you'llplay an important role in keeping our facilities safe, clean, and operating attheir best. We're looking for a hands-on, dependable team member with apositive attitude who enjoys solving problems and takes pride in maintaining afirst-class facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the facility and grounds.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the facility during operating hours.
  • Monitor the facility for safety and security concerns and respond appropriately.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and building equipment.
  • Perform routine grounds maintenance, including lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, ice control, and exterior property upkeep.
  • Assist with setting up and tearing down rooms and equipment for special events.
  • Assist with snow removal and other seasonal grounds maintenance as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, maintenance logs, and related documentation.
  • Complete hazard assessments and comply with all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of building maintenance experience; experience maintaining recreational or commercial facilities is considered an asset.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with basic repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience or knowledge of pool operations, ice arena facilities, and recreational building systems is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's License.
  • Working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation.
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Availability for:
    • Day shift 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
    • Evening shift 4:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m., including weekends.
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check will be required.
