These services typically involve collecting water samples from various points within a building's plumbing system, such as taps, cooling towers, and water storage tanks. The samples are then analyzed for contaminants like lead, bacteria (such as Legionella), and other harmful substances. This helps property owners and managers comply with health regulations and maintain safe water conditions for occupants.

To thrive as a Building Water Sampling Technician, you need knowledge of water sampling procedures, water safety regulations, and usually a high school diploma or relevant technical training. Familiarity with water testing equipment, chain-of-custody protocols, and possibly certification in water quality testing are commonly required. Attention to detail, reliability, and strong organizational skills are vital soft skills for accurate data collection and reporting. These competencies ensure reliable testing, regulatory compliance, and the protection of public health in building water systems.
