Job description

Job Summary

The Service Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting a team of service technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality service delivery. This position oversees daily service operations, provides technical support, supports customer relationships, manages workforce performance, and ensures compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise, coach, and develop technicians
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to field personnel
  • Oversee technician scheduling and dispatch activities to ensure efficient utilization of resources
  • Monitor and support preventive maintenance and service programs
  • Conduct site visits, quality inspections, and technician ride‑alongs to ensure workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction
  • Prepare estimates and repair proposals for existing customers
  • Perform site surveys to identify service and repair opportunities
  • Maintain positive customer and vendor relationships
  • Assist with procurement of approved materials, parts, and inventory management
  • Monitor company vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure proper maintenance and appearance
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Support departmental operational and financial goals through effective planning and resource management
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, the individual must be able to perform the essential duties effectively. The following outlines the expected knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years of age
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent industry experience preferred
  • Minimum 3+ years of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building services, or related construction/service industry experience
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Experience coordinating multiple personnel and projects simultaneously
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior in all interactions
  • Must be dependable team player who collaborates respectfully with colleagues across departments
  • Must be self‑driven and able to manage responsibilities independently in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment
  • Must possess strong organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively
  • Must communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Must show attention to detail and a commitment to producing high quality, accurate work
  • Must maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Physical Demands

This position combines office and field responsibilities. The employee may remain seated for extended periods while operating a computer and standard office equipment and must regularly move between offices, active job sites, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and customer facilities. Duties may occasionally require climbing ladders, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting or carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to read and interpret technical documents, equipment information, service reports, and safety signage, with or without corrective devices, and effectively communicate with customers, vendors, technicians, and management.

Work Environment

The work environment described here is representative of that encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. This role combines office‑based administrative duties with regular field visits to customer facilities, construction sites, and other commercial or industrial environments. Work conditions may vary based on project requirements, weather conditions, and equipment operation and may include exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
