HVAC Service Manager

Experience Required: 4-7 Years of Residential HVAC Experience (Tech background required)

About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced HVAC leader who thrives on solving problems, building winning teams, and driving bottom-line results? Aire Serv of NE Ohio is looking for a dynamic, hands-on HVAC Service Manager to take full ownership of our residential service and maintenance department in Orrville, OH.

This is not a sit-behind-the-desk job. We are looking for an action-oriented leader with an ownership mentality who can jump in on Day 1, identify operational bottlenecks, build high team morale, and turn our service division into a high-margin, high-efficiency engine.

What Youโ€™ll Do from Day 1 1. Drive Profitability & Operational Excellence
  • Take Ownership of Margins: Lead the strategic drive to increase departmental service margins while improving service quality and margin.

  • Financial & KPI Analytics: Partner directly with the Owner and CFO to evaluate operational analytics, track performance metrics, and execute strategies that move the profitability needle.

  • Master the Dispatch Board: Manage dispatch to optimize schedule flow, eliminate unnecessary drive times, and keep field operations streamlined.

  • Eliminate Unnecessary Overtime: Structure field operations and scheduling to keep overtime controlled while maximizing regular-hour call completion.

2. Lead, Coach, & Support the Field Team
  • Be the Technical Support Line: Leverage your background as an HVAC technician to be available in real time to answer technical questions and guide techs through tough field diagnostics.

  • Conduct Field Ride-Alongs: Regularly jump in the truck for ride-alongs to mentor technicians, audit service quality, and listen to team feedback.

  • Training & Continuous Education: Build and run structured, ongoing training programs focused on technical skill development, customer communication, and proper job execution.

  • Build Rapport & Culture: Foster a strong team culture rooted in trust, open communication, high morale, and mutual accountability.

3. Purchasing & Fleet Inventory Control
  • Ensure Accurate Truck Stocking: Fix inventory gaps by establishing strict, repeatable truck-stocking standards so technicians have the right parts on hand, eliminating wasted trips to supply houses.

  • Manage Tech Purchasing: Oversee purchasing for technician tools, equipment, and material needs to keep costs controlled and field teams fully equipped.

What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • 4 to 7 years of residential HVAC experience, including hands-on experience as an HVAC technician.

  • Software Fluency: Must be fluent in ServiceTitan and highly tech-savvy across modern trade management tools.

  • Problem-Solver & Owner Mindset: A proactive leader who doesn't wait for direction to fix broken processes or operational leaks.

  • Financial & Operational Acumen: Ability to read reports, understand margin drivers, and collaborate with executive leadership on business metrics.

  • People Leader: Strong communication skills with a track record of building team trust and driving technician growth.

  • Valid driverโ€™s license with a clean driving record.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in rewarding leaders who take ownership and drive measurable results:

  • Competitive Compensation: $85,000 โ€“ $95,000 Base Salary + High-Upside Performance Bonuses tied to departmental profitability. (OTE: 95,000-110,000+)

  • Insurance: Health, Dental, and Vision insurance options available after 90 days.

  • Time Off: Paid Time Off (PTO) and company-observed paid holidays.

  • Tech Package: Company-provided smartphone, tablet, and management tools.

  • Growth: Ongoing executive coaching and professional development.
