Job description

South Ogden City is looking for a detail-oriented, dependable, and friendly professional to join our Finance team. If you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, keeping things organized, and being part of a team that supports the community, this may be a great fit.In this position, you'll have the opportunity to work across many areas of municipal finance, including payroll, accounts payable, receivables, reconciliations, budgeting, auditing, and financial reporting. You'll work closely with the Finance Director and other City staff and play an important role in keeping the City's financial operations accurate, organized, and running smoothly.What you'll do:Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, including required federal and state reporting.Review and process invoices, accounts payable, vendor documentation, W-9s, and year-end 1099s.Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, credit card accounts, building permits, and other general ledger accounts.Assist with preparation of the City's annual budget, financial audit, and single audit when required.Process travel reimbursements and per diem payments.Research financial information and help turn complex financial data into clear, useful information.Work with vendors and City departments to resolve discrepancies and keep financial records accurate.What we're looking for:Qualified applicants will have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in accounting or a related field and two years of progressively responsible related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience with Caselle accounting software is preferred but not required.We're especially interested in someone who is accurate, organized, comfortable working with deadlines, and able to communicate well with coworkers, vendors, and the public.Starting Pay: $26.19–$33.83 per hour and includes medical, dental, URS pension, and paid time off.If you're looking for a position where you can use your accounting and finance skills while contributing directly to your community, we'd like to hear from you.Apply today and consider joining the South Ogden City team.
