Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Building Engineer to join our team and contribute to the efficient maintenance, operation, and repair of our facility's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. As a Building Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning and safety of our building infrastructure. Under the supervision of engineering department in conjunction with property management support the implementation and documentation of the site safety plans and all Omninet operational standards and guidelines as well as site specific standards, policies and procedures relating to the engineering department.
Responsibilities
• Perform routine inspections. Maintenance, and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues to identify and implement effective solutions.
• Respond promptly to building related emergencies and address urgent repairs as needed.
• Collaborate with a team of engineers and technicians to achieve operational excellence.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
• Assist in the planning and execution of preventive maintenance schedules.
• Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving measure to ensure efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
• Support the installation of new equipment and systems, ensuring proper functionality.
• Provide hands-on training and collaboration to other engineering team members.
• Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by property management/engineering department.
• As appropriate, records all pertinent data in building logbooks and makes all appropriate daily entries.
• Actively functions as a team member.
• Demonstrates commitment to quality of service.
• Complies and participates with Omninet policies, procedures, safety program and facilities specific safety program.
• Provides highest quality of service to the tenants, staff and visitors at the facility.
• Maintains regular attendance in the workplace.
• Participate in regular required communication with Director of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Sr. Building Engineer, Management and other staff.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to building systems.
Qualifications
• Extensive hands-on experience in building operations and maintenance, with minimum of 2 years in a Building Engineering role.
• High school diploma or equivalent, technical certification in a relevant field is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Working knowledge of energy conservation required, formal training preferred.
• Certification meeting OSHA awareness training requirements as required.
• As required, highest level relevant state/local license for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC, plus universal level refrigerant recovery license (EPA).
• Proven experience in building maintenance, repair, or a related role.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, building codes, and regulatory standards.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems in beneficial.
