Job description

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Quality and Operations Manager, the incumbent is responsible for directing the maintenance work at Eden Mental Health Centre, including daily and routine maintenance activities, execution of repairs and preventative maintenance required throughout the building. The incumbent is the point of contact for all contractors and labourers who provide services to EMHC, in conjunction with the Quality and Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Complete Grade 12 education
  • 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate as recognized by the Province of Manitoba
  • Management certification/Leadership courses are considered an asset

Experience:

  • One (1) year previous experience working as a 5th Class Power Engineer in a healthcare facility
  • One (1) year previous supervisory experience in a maintenance environment
  • Other suitable combinations of education and experience may be considered

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates work flow, assigning work and delegating in a manner which provides optimum service efficiency.
  • Responsible for service coordination of contractors and general building maintenance at EMHC, in conjunction with the Quality and Operations Manager.
  • Arranges for outside contractors as required and monitors performance, hours and billings, taking appropriate action as required.
  • Ensures work orders are being completed accurately, satisfactorily and reported appropriately, including delegating tasks appropriate to Maintenance and/or Groundskeeping personnel.
