Job description

Company Description Rivercrest Realty Investors, LLC is a privately owned commercial real estate company founded in 1969 and based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The company specializes in the acquisition, long-term ownership, and management of shopping centers, office buildings, apartments, and storage facilities across the United States. Rivercrest has built a portfolio of quality assets spanning the East and Gulf Coasts as well as the Midwest. The organization focuses on creating value through direct, hands-on management of its own properties, rather than using third-party management firms. This long-term, owner-operated approach has produced consistent investment returns and steady property appreciation over multiple economic cycles.

Role Description The Building Maintenance role is a full-time, on-site position located in Piscataway, NJ. This role is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, including minor repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical components, as allowed by local regulations and company policies. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting common areas and exterior grounds, responding to maintenance requests, troubleshooting equipment issues, and coordinating with vendors when specialized services are needed. The role also involves ensuring safety standards are followed, maintaining clean and orderly utility and storage areas, and supporting property management with building access, inspections, and emergency response. The Building Maintenance team member will work closely with management and other staff to help ensure that the facility remains safe, functional, and well-presented for tenants and visitors.

  • Candidates should possess safety and compliance skills, including adherence to local building codes, safe use of tools and ladders, and familiarity with OSHA and fire safety practices.
  • Candidates should possess organizational and communication skills, including work order management, clear documentation of completed tasks, and effective interaction with tenants, vendors, and supervisors.
  • Candidates should possess problem-solving and customer service skills, demonstrating the ability to diagnose issues, prioritize repairs, and provide professional, respectful service to all building occupants.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related trade is preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderate loads, perform physical tasks, and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Previous experience in commercial property or multi-unit building maintenance is beneficial.
