Job Description
Salary Range: $40,000 - $59,000
Inspects incoming raw materials while utilizing sampling plan, approved engineering prints, and various instruments and software within inspection/metrology lab.
  • Verifies specified dimensions of product or material (incoming & in-process inspections)
  • First piece inspections & reporting
  • Customer and supplier PPAP dimensional layouts
  • Examines defective parts to determine cause of defect
  • Inspects to all print specifications and conformance
  • Maintains records regarding inspection and testing results
  • Assists in Dock Audits / Process Audits
  • Supports zero defect culture (Quality, HSE)
  • Support to Quality, Production, PPE, & Maintenance Teams
  • Uses inspection tooling (i.e.: calipers, scales, optical comparator, micrometers, plug gages, microscope, thread gages, etc.).
  • CMM Programming/operation
  • Gage maintenance, control, & calibration (MSA)
  • Process Capability Studies
  • Develops master bubble, inspection plans, ensure revision control
  • Ensures effective product containment activities when required
  • Organizes on-site sorting activities when required (internal / 3rd party)
  • Assists in GP 12 / Safe Launch Activities
  • Supports to ensure compliance to IATF-16949 & ISO 14001 / 45001

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Blueprints, GD&T, metrology background/experience is required
  • PPAP, GP-12 / Safe Launch
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong ability to adapt to change
  • Knowledge of calendar, email, internet, and spreadsheet software
  • Solid works, and Microsoft Access

Education / Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years quality inspection experience required
  • 3-5 years similar manufacturing industry experience preferred
