Job description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in accordance with local and national codes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in troubleshooting, reading blueprints, and ensuring safe, efficient electrical operations in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in accordance with electrical codes and regulations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, locate the cause of breakdowns, and correct problems.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and safety regulations.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Supervise and mentor apprentices and ensure work quality and safety.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with general contractors, other trades, and clients as needed.
Qualifications:

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License (state-specific).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified apprenticeship program.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of electrical experience (post-apprenticeship).
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and NEC requirements.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools, test equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Skills :

  • Experience in commercial, industrial, or residential construction. Minimum 5 years.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems, generators, and systems.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification.
  • Experience leading small crews or supervising apprentice
