Position Overview
TEI Construction Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled JM Ironworker to join our team working on Covanta projects. As a JM Ironworker, you will be responsible for the installation and fabrication of structural steel and metal components in various construction environments, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the layout of structures and metal fittings.
  • Assist in the erecting and dismantling of scaffolding, shoring, and brackets for site safety and support.
  • Fabricate and install structural steel frameworks, including beams, columns, and girders.
  • Anchor steel members in position for securing by bolting, welding, or riveting.
  • Ensure that all work performed is in compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.
  • Inspect the work sites to ensure quality control and adherence to design specifications.
  • Utilize various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Complete required documentation to report on work completed and materials used.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or relevant training program for Ironworkers.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in steel erection and fabrication in a construction context.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety protocols related to ironworking.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in tight spaces or at high elevations.
  • Strong mathematical skills to accurately measure and cut materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
