Job description

The Commissioning Agent will support new and existing building commissioning projects and will collaborate with a senior commissioning agent. As a commissioning agent, you will interact with design and construction professionals as well as clients, trade contractors, and operations and maintenance staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Onsite presence during building investigations, construction site visits, and functional testing of building systems.
  • Understand the commissioning requirements as defined in the scope of work and design documents, and review shop drawings and equipment submittals.
  • Assist the project manager with the overall project and participate in project coordination meetings.
  • Performing commissioning reviews of construction documents to identify potential issues for both dedicated commissioning projects as well as in-house design projects.
  • Recording and distributing commissioning meeting minutes.
  • Developing and implementing commissioning plans and schedules.
  • Develop pre-functional checklists.
  • Observe construction and installation reviews.
  • Evaluating equipment and building control system installations.
  • Witnessing factory and/or on-site equipment startup procedures and reporting on piping hydrostatic testing, and duct air leakage testing.
  • Assists in Troubleshooting

Qualifications:

  • BS or BAE degree is preferred in Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Management.
  • 10+ years of commisioning experience
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Design experience is preferred or a plus.
  • HVAC and controls systems-related field experience, which includes experience and skills in Commissioning Field and Office Activities and HVAC System installation.
  • CxA certification or willingness to pursue certifications.
  • EIT/PE a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • willingness to travel, typically single-day travel but occasionally 2-4 day trips within 200 miles
