Job description

Description
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, painting, electrical, lighting, and mechanical equipment.
  • Inspects and maintain building infrastructure, including doors, windows, roofing, flooring, and structural components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment such as air compressors, generators, pumps, lifts, and shop equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
  • Responds to facility emergencies, equipment failures, and work order requests.
  • Maintain transit facility grounds, parking areas, fencing, and other exterior infrastructure as assigned
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors during maintenance and repair projects.
  • Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist with facility improvement and renovation projects.
  • Support snow removal, storm preparation, and other emergency response activities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • A valid South Carolina Class A or B CDL with passenger endorsement preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in facility maintenance or related field required.
  • Technical or vocational training in building maintenance or a related trade required.
  • Experience in commercial building maintenance, industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
